Our Story
Over forty years of Italian tradition, homemade recipes, and a deep love for the York Springs community.
From Calabria to Carlisle Pike
In 1971, the DeVita family left Calabria, Italy, and set out for the United States. Lorenzo DeVita was just fourteen years old. The family brought with them a life-long pursuit of perfection in traditional Italian cooking, a dedication that would eventually shape their future in Pennsylvania.
After working in the pizza business for several years, Lorenzo caught the entrepreneurial spirit. In 1981, he and his brother Mike opened Rocco's Pizza in East Berlin, PA, naming it after their father, Rocco DeVita. Two years later, the brothers decided to expand. Mike stayed at the East Berlin location while Lorenzo set out on his own, opening Rocco's Pizza of York Springs in a converted Phillips 66 service station along Carlisle Pike (Highway 94). That same building remains the heart of the restaurant to this day.
Lorenzo's wife Anna accompanied him from Calabria, bringing her heritage and devotion to authentic Italian cooking into every recipe. Together, the DeVita family built Rocco's into a gathering place for the York Springs community, where each dish reflects the traditions they carried across the Atlantic.

What Makes Us Special
Every dish at Rocco's starts with the same commitment the DeVita family brought from Italy: use the best ingredients and take the time to do things right.
Imported 00 Flour
We use authentic Italian 00 flour, the same fine-milled flour used by pizzaioli across Italy, for a light, airy crust with the perfect chew.
Homemade Dough, Every Day
Our dough is made fresh in-house daily. No frozen dough, no shortcuts. You can taste the difference in every slice.
Sauce from Imported Tomatoes
Our pizza sauce is made from scratch using imported Italian tomatoes, seasoned with a recipe the DeVita family has perfected over generations.
Fresh Baked Bread Daily
Our sub and sandwich bread is baked fresh every morning, giving each bite the kind of texture and flavor you simply cannot get any other way.
Locally Sourced Ingredients
We partner with local farms and suppliers for our produce and beef, keeping our food fresh and supporting the Adams County community.
Forty Years of Tradition
Since 1983, the DeVita family has run this kitchen with the same standards, the same recipes, and the same love for authentic Italian food.
Proud to Support Our Community
